Pursuing a life I love waking up to every day has always been a priority for me, but from 2020 to 2022 I found myself coasting. I wasn’t lit up at work, each day seemed monotonous, and I felt lackluster.

Nothing significant had changed, yet I felt like an entirely different person than the joyful, content, balanced person I was before.

So I did a time audit and attached a feeling to each hour. I used an app to track every single minute of my time from when I woke up to when I went to bed and discovered that I was spending 3+ hours on social media and bouncing back and forth between tasks.

This all ate up huge chunks of my time. It took me hours to complete a task that should have been done quickly, I’d find myself working until 7 pm, 8 pm, or even 9 pm at night to catch up on tasks.

I know I’m not alone in this.

I began straightening myself out, focusing on one task at a time, and using apps that are designed to limit social media use. Before long I found myself with enough time to dedicate an hour each night to spend quality time with my boyfriend, take French classes, go salsa dancing - and all without the weight of “When I get home I have so much to do” dragging me down.

This is a snippet of my story. I’m looking forward to hearing yours.
